Each homeroom will have two student mentors. These students are chosen by their homeroom teacher as someone who possesses good leadership qualities, friendly, and can be seen as a good role model to others students. They will assist with organizing and coordinating Book Work Angels, Hats On Day, 100 Days Food Drive, Mix It Up Days and many other events throughout the school year. Student Mentors will meet with Ms. Grahovec every Monday during their lunch. period.
New Student Lunches
Every year Ludwig School provides a New Student Lunch Program for all new students to the school. The New Students will join me for lunch, once a week for four weeks on Wednesdays. The dates are August 24th and 31st. September 7th and 14th. We will meet for a follow up lunch later in the school year in December 2011. The students will eat their lunch together as we talk about moving or changing schools. making new friends, and keeping old friends, and the differences between Ludwig and the “old” school. Students can either bring a bagged lunch or purchase hot lunch. After receiving their lunch they will come down to my office Room 30. The students will have some fun activities and talk with each other about any problems they may be facing at Ludwig.

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said,
People will forget what you did,
But people will never forget how you made them feel.”
“Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.”

Child Lures Program
The CHILD LURES SCHOOL PROGRAM improves self-reliance, raises self-esteem and helps students master personal safety skills – all while reassuring them that most people are kind, safe, and committed to their well being. Students learn to identify specific lures used in crimes against children and how they employ proven prevention strategies. The Program also teaches Internet Safety, Drug Resistance, and School Violence Prevention. Child Lures presentations will take place in conjunction with Mrs. Creek’s Internet Safety Presentations. Check back for dates starting in October 2011.
